REFLECTION 

    During the last 8 weeks I have been working on my Technology Pilot Proposal in which I created a lesson that incorporates technology in order to teach high school students about managing money and budgeting. The process was not as hard at this particular school since the school has a huge technology presence in all their classrooms. Students at this school are used to doing work on computers so this is a seamless transition. 

    Students in my resource period are using this period to catch up on work but they more often than not just sit and not do anything since this period is non academic. I decided to use this class period as a life skills study hall for students who are diverse learners. 

    I believe that this pilot experiment would go great once implemented and would give students a great resouce for their future or even present needs. Many students in who are serviced at this school come from lower income backgrounds and finances are not something that is taught at home. Schools also, very often push students to go to college but never take the inititive to show students how to pay for that college. I also believe that once this pilot goes through and there is evidence that shows the results it might even become part of the school's afterschool programs or even a course during career/college day. 

    The fact that two of my peers were impressed with the pilot experiment really motivated me to want to try it out as soon as possible when we go back to in person learning. There is no greater compliment than having peers who have been doing this a lot longer tell you how great they believe this pilot is and how they would love to take some of these ideas themselves. All aspects of this journey have been positive so far from the idea implementation to the research of various technology tools that will be used for this lesson. I have not experienced any negative aspects besides having to wait until remote learning ends. 

    I think that the role of Technology Specialist is very important as they help other teachers implement various technology into every day lessons. The Technology Specialist is a central part of any school and makes a huge difference in the school's technology curriculum implementation. Tech Specialist not only help to make sure software and hardware are working properly they also educate teachers on which technology programs are more adequate for certain subjects and grade levels.
