REFLECTION

REFLECTION      During the last 8 weeks I have been working on my Technology Pilot Proposal in which I created a lesson that incorporates technology in order to teach high school students about managing money and budgeting. The process was not as hard at this particular school since the school has a huge technology presence in all their classrooms. Students at this school are used to doing work on computers so this is a seamless transition.      Students in my resource period are using this period to catch up on work but they more often than not just sit and not do anything since this period is non academic. I decided to use this class period as a life skills study hall for students who are diverse learners.      I believe that this pilot experiment would go great once implemented and would give students a great resouce for their future or even present needs. Learning Specialist/Instructional Designer

The school in which I just started working at has a great technology presence in the school for all subjects. Students all use chromebooks for almost 90 percent of their classroom work. Since I am a co-teacher for various classrooms it a bit hard to try a pilot experiment in those classrooms especially given the fact that students are already exposed to enough technology. Therefore, I decided to do my pilot experiment in my resource classroom which is 4 students who need the most assistance. The students here have a harder time with reading comprehension so I for my experiment I will be using a podcast along with a slide show to show a lesson on financial literacy. Students will be learning about financial literacy and going to college this semester in their civics class which is the reason I will be doing the pilot experiment on this subject.
